Sale of Pedigree Jerseys

At Midhirst on 16th inst. Messrs Newton King Ltd. held a very successful salo on behalf of Mr W. H. Rutledge, who has recently sold his farm and is leaving fe r Australia. Mr Rutledge has been a very enthusiastic follower of the Jersey breed almost since the inception of Ins fanning activities, of late years having taken up the breeding of pedigree stock, not on an extensive scale but with much success. This latter point was plainly indicated by the splendid attendance of buyers at the sale and the keen manner in which it wa s contested. Mr George Cowling, of Manaia, gave top price of the day (lo2gns.) for "Paratawhiti Prim/' a very fine cow of outstanding dairy typo and rare breeding; GO guineas was paid by Mr J. Perhani, of Midbirst, for "Ulawarra Lassie."
