THE TYPHOON'S YICTDIS. (Reuter Service.) (Received 10.45 a.m.) Hongkong, August 19. ~;, S fl far, about a score of vessels, including a number of large steam,'ers of various nationalities, are re- ■ ported \to be ashore at different l places as the result of the typhoon. A few are holed and badly damaged, but. the majority are expected to be refloated. Many smaller craft suffered severely. At least twenty junks and a score of sampans capsized. It is estimated that one hundred were drowned. Arriving vessels report encountering considerable wreckage at sea. Besides the large number severely damaged, at least* fifty Chinese houses collapsed.
