Earthquake Shocks
GENTLE SHAKE THIS MORNING. Per Press Association. Carterton, August 20. Two slight shocks of earth.qun.ka were felt at Carterton this morning at 6.55. A loud rumble preceded a gentle shake, with two slightly harder bumps a few seconds apart. TWO SHARP SHOCKS. Pahiatua, August 20. Two sharp shocks of earthquake occurred at 6.55 'this morning.
