Mr W. Smith, 8.A., headmaster of Miramar South school, has been appointed to succeed Mr A. 0. Buchler as headmaster of Terace End school. A London cable reports the death of Lord Sterndale, a distinguished English judge, at the age of 74. The death of the Rev. Thomas Arson Cato, at the age of 65, is reported in a telegram from Gisborne. Deceased had celebrated Holy Communion at To Hapara, but collapsed on his return home. Ho was assistant priest of the Gisborne parish and was formerly rector of Braidwood and Gunning, New South Wales. He had been vicar of Waimungaroa, Dsnniatoti, Reefton, NelW& IFairoa and. Opotiki.
