NEWTON KING LTD’S REPORT. At Stratford on the 7th instant the penning of store cattle consisted of cows mostly of tho store and forward classes, and all sold at late rates. Wean or Jersey cross heifers made up to £2 Gs. The entry of sheep was small, aged cows making 325, fat and forward wtethors 31a Gd and hoggets 18s to 235, The dairy sale attracted a large entry, and enquiry throughout was steady, the bulk of the yarding being sold. Cows sold up to £l7, and heifers) from £5 to £B. An entry of cowsi on behalf of Mrs Lees, of Toko, sold at from £9 to £ls. At Inglewood on the following day wo report, a good sale for all classes of store cattle, ordinary wcane r heifers and steers particularly. Although a fair amount of business was transacted in the dairy section, prices were mostly in favour of buyers. Woanor heifers a 26s to 355, better quality do. £2 ss, three-year-old steers £3 6s>, store cows 25s to 355,, forward conditioned do. £2 15s to £3 10s, springing heifers £5 5s to £0 lOs, Jersey do. £9 15s, dairy cows £4 15s to £6 ss. At Stratford on behalf of the estate of W. T. Steer, the herd of 11 cows made tho high average of £l4 12s, weaner heifers £3 10s, and sundries sold very well.
