WYOMING DISASTER

A telegram from Rook Sprngs, Wyoming, states that the rescue workers brought a total of thirtyseven miners alive from the ruins of the exploded mine. They also found ninety-five bodies. It is feared the total dead may exceed 100. The min© officials ascribe the explosion to the derailment of a mine car whence a spark ignited the dust. The officials deny that a fire followed, asserting that the deaths were due to suffocation, but the bodies ofi most of the victims are charred beyond recognition as from donee smoko and flames.
