Gun Club Notes
STRAfFORD CUN CLUB. The Stratford Gun Club held sh ots on Thursday afternoon, when the Bnllistite Cup and Kelly trophies were advanced a stage. Following are the results : Ballistite Cup (fourth, competition) 12 clays.—B. Green (16yds) broke the possible 1. J. Petrie (14yds) 11 clays, 2. Also competed: H. Harrison (21yds) 10, A. Nelson (17yds) 9, F. Dick (l§yds) 8, A. E. Coleman (17yds) and F. Vincent (15yds) 7 each. Kelly Trophy (fourth competition) 12 clays —A. Nelson (17yds) and F. Vincent (13yds) 11 each, Harrison 10, Dick f Obleman 9, Petrie 8, Green 8. Vincent won a First Miss Out on the fifth round, Petrie won the second of a similar shoot on the fourth round. Hawera Club hold' a chib competition to close the season on 29th inst., an invitation being issued to all Stratford members to attend. The next Stratford shoot will be held a month hence at Eltham. THE CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. At the Christchurch Gun Chib’s £l5O Live Pigeon Open Handicap Match at their ground*. Hornby, on Moral there was a large attendance' of spectators and shooters from all parts of the Dominion. A strong wind was binning throughout, which made many of ‘the birds exceptionally difficult, but all things considered, the shooting was of a very high order. The conditions were fourteen birds at handicap distances, in which forty-four shooters competed. A Per a keenly contested jmatch the stake was divided by five shooters, who wore successful in grassing all their birds. The following are the principal scores R. Marshall (25yds) 14 J. Morrissey (21 yds) 14 P. M. O’Connor (21yds) 14 J. Mi.' Pearson (21yds) 14 O. Truscott (27yds) 14 T. Medley (25yds) 13 F, Truscott (22yds) 13 B. Hammond (26yds) 13 6. Evans (22yds) 13 W. Clfisnall (26yds) 13 A First Miss Out Match drew thirty-four shooters. At the end of the eleventh round it was divided by E. S. Taylor (26yds), J. Gorton (21yds), E. Lansdell (25yds), E. Hammond (26yds). The final match of the day was a First Miss Out Match in which there were twenty-one shooters. At the end of the sixth round it was divided % 0. Truscott (28yds), T. Potts (23yds), J, Skilling (23yds).
