/■•• DAVIS—PHILLIPS. A pretty" wedding took place at St. MMtfa Presbyterian Church, Stratford, on Tuesday last, the contracting • parties being Dura Willard, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M. T. Phillips, of Stratford, and William John, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Davis, of New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. W. McKenzie assisted by Padre Greene, uncle of the bride. As the bride entered the church on the arm of her father, the "Lohengrin WeJding March" was played on the organ by Mrs 0. Carter. The bride, who was attended by Miss Helen Barnett (Wellington) as. bridesmaid, was charmingly attired in shell pink satin morecain trimmed with handmade georgette flowers in pink and heliotrope with silver girdle. She carried a bouquet of ptnk carnations and freeSrias and maiden hair fern, and w©re a veil of pink tulle arranged as a coronet with orange blossoms. Miss Barnett (bridesmaid) was at-" tired in., a turquoise blue silver embossed georgette dress over palette, and wore a blue tulle veil and carried a choice couquet of freesias. Miss Olive Greene, cousin of the bride, wore a .lavender palette dress with silver girdle and hand-made flowers, and wore a veil of lavender tullo. She carried a bouquet of violets and freesias. Little Margaret Phillips, train bearer, was prettily frocked in shell pink georgette and carried a potey of choice flowers. Mr Will Phillips acted as best man and Mr Nelson Davis, brother of the bridegroom, was , groomsman. The wedding breakfast, which wa s attended by a large number of friends, was* served-in St. Andrew's Hall, when the customary toasts were duly honoured and responded to. The large wedding cake was iced in pink and white by Mr Edmundson, Both bride and bridegroom were the recipients of numerous useful and valuable presents, including Several" cheques. The happy couple left for their honeymoon trip by motor car amid the good wishes of many friends. The bride's travelling d"ess was of dove grey with hat to match.
