WIFE OF TE WERA RESIDENT. 4 Great anxiety is felt by Mr Barney Boyle, of Te Wera, and friends of the family, concerning the vvhere r abouts of Mrs Boyle, who has been missing since Friday. Slia left home to pay a visit' to friendg l i Sti afford, it being her intention to return home on Saturday. On Monday Mr Bo.yle came to Stratford to take' her hon>e, and only then learned that his wife had not galled on her friends as arranged, and nothing was known of her. In view of Mrs Boyle's health as the result of a recent nervous breakdown the matter was placed in tho hands of the local police, and Sergeant Dale brought under Mr Boyle's notice the paragraph appearing in last evening's "Stratford Post" referring to the discovery of clothing and a book on the bank of the Wangamu river on Saturday. Immediately, Mr Boyle rocognised the name 'A. B. Bantrey, Hawera," inscribed on the flyleaf of the book, as being the same he ha<l noticed on a book in his wife's possession. Under the circumstances, Mr Boyle has increased fears for her safety and he left by this afternoon's train for Wanganui to prosecuto further enauiries.
