Boxing

ATTACK ON THE COUNCIL. Per Press Association. j. Wellington, August 13. i At a meeting of the Wellington Boxing Association it wa 8 deeded to protest against the New Zealand Council's decision which allowed other boxers as well as the champions and runners-up at the Island championships to compete at Dunedin. They considered the champions of the respective islands should he the only ones eligible to compete for the title, and that the runners-up be* matched in special bouts only. They instructed their delegates to the conference to support this, and in a resolution they regretted they had no longer any confidence in the council at present existing, and desired that a special conference bo eonvoned immediately to secure rules fior the proper government and advancement of the sport. The present control was described as chaotic.
