BtTBGLAKY IN WELLINGTON. Wellington, August 13 Burglars entered the premises of Messrs Makower and Mcßeath, warhousemen, during the week-end and decamped a quality of crepo-de-chine valued at approximately £250. Entrance was gained through „a in a side alleyway, an iron shutter being forced and the bolt broken. A' man carrying two large*' parcels; was seen leaving the /warehouse' about six o'clock this morning.

GIKtfS DEATH IN ASYLUM. Dunedin, August 13. An inqueust held this morning concerning' '" tie death!>' of Gladys May >M&kende,' of jGeraldine, disclosed unusual conditions. According to the mather's evidence 'the girl,'.who was aged 18, enjoyed tdpa health until three months ago, when Dr. Paterson treated her for eye., trouble. A month later she became hysterical and delusional, and J?r.; Patterson suggested her removal 'to hospital, where she was taken. S /Th)e mother' stated she did not see , the. girl for a fortnight, when Dr. „UJr}ch, of Timaru, and Dr. Curtis, ; of,Gferaldine, were called in. Later Paterson advised that the girl was Jnsane, and the place for a cure was AsHburn Hall, near Dunedin, where she was duly committed. Dr. Paterson told witness she could take, deceased down in August/ when she did. Deceased was then unconscious, and remained so tiirher death.

Will, superintendent of Ashburk flail, stated the girl was dying "when admitted.

Drennan, who made a postmortem examination, stated deceased died from the effects of acute bronchitis, with intense broncho-pneu-monia.' The brain changes were due Jo &e toxic lung conditions. In his opinion pneumonia had been present some days; though it might have been difficult to diagnose. Pneumonia would account for the brain .conditions.

The coroner adjourned the Inquest to get information why deceased was sent from Geraldine to Dunedin in such health.
