GREGG AND CO.'S STARCH WORKS. Per Press Association. Dunedin, August 14. A fire broke out early this morning Gregg and Company's starch works at Harbour Ten ace. The three-storey factory was gutted and the stock and plant destroyed. The damages are estimated at between £66.10 and £7OOO. The insurances total £7900. \ DAMAGE AT HASTINGS. Hastings, August 14. A lire broke out in the shop of Richard Martin, outfitter, Herctaunga Street, last night. The building was a wooden 'one, which the fir© brigade saved, but the stock and fittings were practically destroyed by nro and water. The stock and fittings were insured for £'2500 W the Alliance, Norwich Union, and Farmers' Union. The. building, own- j cd by .T. M/ Cameron was insured for £520 in the Atlas OlbYe. A reminder is given of the annual] meeting of the Stratford Prohibition League, which is to bo held at, 8) o'eloek this evening in the Methodist schoolroom.
