A world congress of Jewish women was held in Vienna recently, at the instance of the. Council of Jewish Women, which was formed in 1893, at the World's Pair in Chicago, and has done excellent work in particular during the post-war years. Among the questions discussed were the American immigration laws; Soviet rule in Russia in relation to the Jewish population; and the Zionist movement in Palestine. A resolution was passed declaring Jewish women's readiness to participate in the reconstruction of Palestine, but refusing adhesion to any legitimate and illegitimate children, and more effective measures against the whito ' Tave traffic. It was also decided to protest against the exclusion of Jewish students from certain universities.
