Continued heavy rain and the melting of snow on the ranges combined to threaten the districts round about Hastings and Napier with serious flood during the past few days, but thanks to the excellent rjhrer mouths and temporary spells from heavy, rain, the flood danger has again passed, subject to there being no further heavy rainfall. There waa a light drizzle to-day, but the, bad, weafher,appearsto have broken..
