Harding’s funeral train departed for Marion, Ohio, Harding’s birthplace, where it will arrive to-morrow fop burial on Friday with the simplest ceremony. The latter will bo attended by virtually all tbe political loaders, including Mr Coolidge. Tlio body will Ho in state for twenty-four hours after arrival to permit fellow Ohioiaus to view tho remains.

Tn deference to the wish of Mrs Harding the last rites will be of the simplest, and utterly devoid of civil and military pomp.

ARRIVAL AT MARION. CROWDS PAY SILENT TRIBUTE. (Received 10.55 a.m.) Marion, Ohio, August 9. Harding’s body arrived shortly after noon. The train wag delayed for several hours on account of dense crowds lining tho route. Every bell iu the city tolled as the procession proceeded from the station to the home of Harding’s father through lines of mourners. LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN. HARDING MEMORIAL SERVICE. MESSAGE FROM U S.A. f-er Proas Association. Wellington August 9. Mr;,Mays, head of the American Legion Veterans in New Zealand, re-1 reived a message from the Legion in tho United States of America, 'Stating that all posts are expected to hold services in memory of President Harding. The Returned Soldiers’ 1 Association is co-operating, and the Wellington branch is arranging a service on August 20.

Mr Mays, on behalf of his comrades. has expressed appreciation for the kindly action.
