MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The first meeting of the general committee of the Stratford A. ~m P Association was hoi’J this afteinoon, when Mr J. W ™ absence of the president v- 1 Aylward) occupied the chair. Those present were; Messrs A. H. R Amess-, J. CC Rollins, J T. Belcher, C* Moore, H. Hunt. D M- Clarke, J. Ctowe, K. Ross, H Steer, H. JJohnson, 'e Linnell, Camphell Jackson, and B Richmond A circular letter was read from the Council of Agriculture .<tuting that the conference would open at Wellington’ o’i July 18th and it was asked that the names of delegates and also any remits to he brought ; forward be submitted in time lor the conference. Mr Linnell said that in view of the number of valuable dairy animals being kept in the Strut lord district that"the Council of Agriculture ho urged to make re; ro«enta riors to the Government' for a qualified veterinary surgeon ro he appointed Bn this district. In this' connect on he pointed out that the Government veterinary surgeon lived : 'i New Plymouth, and was ton far away when wanted. After an in forma discussion he moved—“ That the Council of Agriculture make representations to the Government foi a qualified veterinary surgeon to bo appointed at, Stratford being the centre of a large dairying district,” The motion on being put to the meeting was carried unanimously. Speaking in support ol sub-com-mittees being .appointed to cany out certain improvements in connection with the program me of iiie annual show, Al r H Hunt gave notice of motion to that effect.,. The executive committee was appointed as follows; Messrs H. ■ Johnson, E. Linnell, H., Hunt, D. I O’Sullivan, W Pettigrew, R. Steer, K. Ross, W. H. Rutledge, C. Moore, I). M. Clarke, A. H, Rr. Amess, ,J. W .Boon, ( J. Stewart, J. T. Belcher; and general committee as follows; Messrs H. T. Cooper, A. J. Davey, K E Duke, E. Hancock, W. Pastier, Parish, .J. M. Shutter, E. S. Walker. C Aid. Young, J. Stewart, A. David, G. T. Gibbons, L. D. Webster'. W. Bayly, C. Marchant, L. K. Tarrant, A, D. AValker, J. B. Hine and H. H. Harrison. It was decided to meet monthly,, on Saturdays at 1.30 P'-m. The question of more suitable office accommodation was discussed and a sub-committee, consisting of Messr* L. To Aylward, J. W. Boon and C. Moore,- was appointed to deal with * thd’ ’ matter' ‘and 1 to report.
