AEROPLANES CRASH.
TWO KILLED IN AUSTRALIA. Sydney, June 12. An aeroplane crashed at Gloucester, killing Captain Henry Hawkins, who gamed the- Military Cross pnd Legion of Honor and other decorations during the war, and Thomas Laurie, a, f>r.ssenger. The pilot had ascended about 150 feet, when the engine appeared to cut out, and the machine crashed, pinning Laurie'and Hawkins underneath. m-, other passenger named Sheddau was thrown clear, being only slightly injured. ANOTHER AVRO ACCIDENT. AIRMAN'S WONDERFUL ESCAPE. Per Press Association. Hastings, June 13. Lieutenant L. E. Tatton, while making a triad local flight in an Avro machine yesterday, could not attain the altitude owing to the atmospheric conditions. In returning to the landing place the machine nose-dived about 100 feet and crashed to ground. Tatton was cut out of the wreckage in a semi-conweious condition and motored to the hospital, where it was found he had sustained a, double fracture of the left arm together with considerable bruises and shock. He bad a wonderful escape. He suffered no internal injury and is making apood recovery. It is thought the accident was due to engine trouble.
