It is stated that the price paid by Vestey iiros., Limited., to the Imperial Government, in respect of beef in store in tho Dominion, is Gd a. ib f.o.b. New Zealand ports. It is not known what the price is for mutton.
George Mackay, aged 60, a water'•ide worker, and bis wife Mary, also aged GO, were found in bed yesterday morning at their residence at ooutli Dunedin in an urconsc'ous com! tion owing to the gas tap not having boon completely turned off. At II o’clock in the afternoon M's Mackay was showing signs cf returning consciousness, but there was little change in Mr Mackay’s condition.
