TRIBUNAL IN TARANAKI. ¥ SITTING IN STRATFORD. The Wellington Price Investigation Tribunal (Messrs C. M. Luke, A. J. Maxwell and M. J. Reardon) concluded its' sitting at New Plymouth yesterday, inquiring' into various matters. Six" witnesses appeared and gave evidence regarding their respective lines of business. Evidence was adduced regarding the rising price of land, both as regards farm and town and the effect on rents. The Tribunal also received complaints on this head in other towns. of this nature was taken with a vi >w to reporting to the Government en the whole question of rising prii.es and frequent sales, 1 the land in some cases b?ing held for f.nly a few weeks and then turned over again It 39 thought that legislation m.-n be passed on the matter '.his session

The Tribunal held a sitting in Stratford to-day, a number of complaints being received.
