(Rcce ved 9.5 a.m.) • d- Lo-don, August 9. • The House of Commons adopted a resolution authorising the payment of £IOO,OOO ag the Government’s share of the guarantee fund in connection with the forthconrng iTrTush Empire Exhibition. Mr Kellaway, in moving the resolution, said there was no better way of celebrating the great part played by the Empire in the war than by holding in London this exhib tion o, the Empire’s manifold resources and the activities of its peoples. Th© guarantee was conditional on a guarantee of half a million sterling being forthcoming from private sources. There was every reason to believe that the sum would b© found, if it wa s necessary. Our manufacturers should find now markets as our greatest, bone thereanentt lay in the Empire.
