THE KING’S CINEMA.

TWO SESSIONS TO-NIGHT.

There will be two sessions at the King’s Cinema this evening, for the convenience of those wishing to wait to see the election results. In the first session the , leading item will be “The Silent Man,” described as the best Bill Hart story vet.

“The Whirl of Life” will be the feature of the second session. The picture stats Irene Vernon Castle and her husband and the action takes place among the dancing halis patronised by the wealthy. The Jazz, the Tickletoc, the Whirly-Whirly, the Walking Waltz, the Fox-trot, and other up-to-date steps are shown exactly by George Irving and Ethel Bennett, in the clover Jazz film which proceeds “The Whirl of Life.”

WINDING UP THE YEAR

An excellent wind-up for the year is provided by the dance organised by Mrs Bianchi which is to be held in the Town Hall on New Year’s Eve. Half , the proceeds of the function are to lie donated to the Swimming Club, which is this year making an endear vour to gather a sum of money which will enable much-needed improvements to be carried out at the baths. Music for the dancing will be supplied by Mrs Bianchi’s orchestra, and it is, promised that the supper and the floor will leave nothing to he desired.

ELOCUTIONARY RECITAL.

Elocutionary items by Captain Allen, who is well known throughout the Dominion, having given his services voluntarily for the. purpose of raising funds for patriotic and other deserving objects, will be a feature ol an entertainment to be given in the Midhirst Public Hall to-morrow evening under the auspices of the Young Helpers’ League, the object being, to, help the funds of Dr. Barhardo’s Homes. Items will also' be rendered by adulf and juvenile friends of the movement.
