ACCIDENT TO M. CLEMENCEAU

M. Clemenceiui was thrown on to the deck of a destroyer he w,as* travelling on during a rough' crossing to England. Ho ignored the injury during the conference, but on return to Paris his doctor discovered he had fractured a rib.
APPEAL TO LABOR AND CAPITAL.
London, December 15
Merchants and manufacturers of South Wales formed a deputation, to Mr* Lloyd George drawing attention in the transport congestion.
Mr Lloyd George attributed the congestion to the war time wear on locomotives and and the uitrdduction of iin ,ejght : hour day. Tlie -irouinouldeis’ strike increased Twl traffic', owing to the rise in coastal shipping freights. He promised to-'reorganise shipping, labor and coal control,, and to speed up the building of rolling stock. t Ho appealed to labor and capital to pull together, . enabling the country to triumphantly ente#a period of tinprecendented prosperity, hi which ■ lie hoped .all classes would participate.
