The Commission has commenced hearing evidence in the charges against Judge Bevan, Mr Carey, ami •Dri, Gilruth- that they were all interested in a mine at Daley River, of which a lease was granted by Dr. Gilruth, and that the land at Daley River was demanded for Sevan and Gilruth, who were the real owners.; that they shook the confidence of the people of the Territory, to such an extent as to cause' the recent 'trouble. Gilruth and Carey are also charged with being prepared to give improper consideration to the firm of Vesteys to enable them to sell their meat works to the Government.
