(From Our Own Correspondent.) The animal' school concert and dance was hhld cm Friday flight and was. a huge', success. The School was tastefully decorated for the occasion, arid in . this respect, great credit is due . to Messrs -Keirip, Calvert, Lamplough., and Mesdames Lamplough, Mo A loon, and Kemp. The choruses rendered hyethe- children- wore warmly' applauded, arid the teachers are j to bo congratulated on their - tine performance. Among the costumes were Mrs Lpinplough (Queen), Miss McAloon (RcdV'Cross Nurse, Miss Kemp (Generosity), Jack Boyle (Untidy Scholar), 1 baldwell (Quarrelsome Boy), Jaek Garlick: (Selfish Boy).-. Recitations were/ rendered by Pearl Boyle, while Pat., •Nyne’sang ‘I am { Mother’s Little »•- ''C.ni—MAWUiii-
Kelly and Henry Otvrlick) were excollont. Little Molly Calvert was heartily applauded for het singing of Down Texas -Way, while Miss B. McAloon, of Christchurch, sang very nicely. Miss' Orudis ’ presided at the piano and deserves credit. At the conclusion of the, concert, the chairman Mr Kemp) returned thanks to the parents for their attendance and referred' to the fact that great credit was due to the teachers for their untiring efforts in the tuition of the children. Dancing was kept up until about a.in., music being supplied by Mrs Lamplough, Miss Crudis and; Mr. .■Meredith.
