In the House of Commons, in in- , troducing, the Supplementary Navy Estimates. Mr, falter Long «aid the Estimates, for the year .now amounted to 158 millions. ,The personnel at the armistice,was ; 307,000, and it was no-sr 150,000. The building of 1005 ships at the armistice had been ordered or begun, of which 611 were cancelled, 319 now completed/and ■ were being completed. -!oAll •the! home waters" comprising an area of 59,065 square miles, had been sweph clear of mines. The enemy laid. therein durinß the war 11,000 mines, and' all were cleared dur-r ing the hostilities, except 74. The Bri« tish laid 65,302, one-third of which had been swept.
