TODD BELLS is a handsome chpco- | late chestnut, standing 15.3; a 1 straight-out trotter, with beautiful action, amt exceptionally good tempered. An aristocrat of his line, with purple lineage second to none, aiid inherits the speed and foal-get-ting qualities of his sire—Abbey Bells. The sire of Todd Bells was a straight-out trotter, and has a public trial of 2.15 at 3-years, He is also the sire of Grattan Bolls, champion 2-year-old trotter of Australasia, record 2.29;, Delav.au Chimes, champion 2-year-old pacer. Australasian record, 2.261. Countess of Todd, dam of Todd Bells, is the only mare in Australasia by that remarkable young sire Todd 1 (2.141, who was sold by auction- in America for £6OOO. Todd is by Bingen (2.60. sire of Uhlan (1.54), the world’s champion straight-out trotter. The stamina of the family is undeniable. No horse in Australasia carries retire speed-producing blood than Todd Bells. Hi s pedigree is unimpeachable. He has some useful performances to his credit on the race track. Some of his principal victories are: Tamahau Mahupnku Memorial Handicap at South Walrarapa trotting meeting. At three vears old he started four times at Wanganui Trotting Club’s Easter meeting, securing three wins and a second. Since then he has won the President’s Handicap at Wanganui, two miles in 4.58, and, Waikato Cup. two miles in 4.54, Hawei'a Handicap, 4.55, and other races. The Trotting Journal says: Todd Bells is a pure gaited trotter of the highest tvpe.
