The New Zealand Grand Master (Bro F. 0. Watt, and Grand Secretary (Bro J. Kershaw) paid an official visit to the Taranaki District last evening, the meeting being hold at Eltham, when the District Officers, P.G.M. Bro. A. L. Roberts, and D.P.G.M. Bro. •Sprngg, presided, over a very large attendance of members, the sisters of the Order being largely represented. Apologies wore received from P.P.G.M. Bellringer (New Plymouth) Ainsworth (New* Plymouth) Ainoore (Eltham) and Hancock (Midhirst). The visitors were welcomed by the District Grand Master and Sister E. Sorbie, of the Eltham Lodge. Responses were made by P.P.G;M.’s Bros. McGahoy, Brabant, ,C. Allen, 1 A. Melville, C. D. Sole, and Secretaries Little and A. E. Bennett, on behalf of the Egmontj Excelsior, Waits ra, Hawera, Kaponga, Manaia, and Stratford lodges respectively. The Grand Master and Grand Secretary, were enthusiastically, received, and spoke on matters in connection with the Order generally, and more particularly in connection with the payment of soldier-members’ contributions and sick pay. j

Slipper was provided by the Ladies of | the Lodge, after which a short toast list was gone through, the speakers including the Mayor of Eltham (Mr Crump) Bro. the .Hon. W. Cnrncross, M.L.C., Bro. C. A. Wilkinson, M.P.; P.P.G.M. Bro. T. Lawson; P.P.G.M Bro. C. D. Sole; Bro Gow.; P.G. T.O. Stanners; Bro. G. Papps ; and the toast of the ladies was responded to by Sisters Sorbie, E.
