A London cablegram to-day states that the Earl of Lichfield, director of the Bank of Australasia, is dead, as the result of a gunshot wound. The Rev. G. Heighway, for 21 years pastor of the King Street Congregational Church, Dunedin, terminated his ministry there the other day, i having accepted a call to the Palmerston North Congregational Church. Mr Alexander Hatrick, AVangauuvs most progressive merchant,- died last evening, aged 60.
