CEMMELL GROWING MURDER. Per Press Association. Oamnru, July 30. An inquest on the body of Onslow John William Mayhew, whose body was found in the.scrub on the south bunk of the Kakanui River, and for whose arre&c a warrant had been issued for the murder of George Swan' Burke, at Gemmell's Crossing, was held this afternoon, before the , district coroner, Mr J. R- Bartholomew, S.M. After the medical testimony had been taken, and evidence of indent iii cat ion heard, the coroner said that deceased was evidently acting under a homicidal impulse, but apart Ivom any inference which was to be drawn from the tragic events and unnatural nature of the acts, there was no definite evidence of mental alienation. He found that deceased committed suicide by shooting himself mi or about April 11, 191 S.
