U.F.B.A. Per Press Association. Tauranga, February 2G. The Fire Brigades' Conference concluded this afternoon. Invitations for next conference were received from Hastings, Levin, Invercargill and Lyttelton, and tlie selection will be made by the Brigades. The election of officers resulted :—•■ President, Deputy Superintendent Coupe'r (Oaniaru); Vice-Presidents, Superintendent Keith (Hastings), and Superintendent Goodwin (Akaroa) treasurer, C. A. Osoorn (Onehunga); secretary Captain AVatts (Newmarket). A resolution was passed urging the Government not to agree to hand back the Islands in the Pacific.' to Germany and that aliens in the Dominion be employed on useful work. The retiring president, Mr R. P. Hean" (Addington Workshops) was elected a life honorary member. The delegates are to be taken several outings to-morrow and will be entertained at a banquet in the evening. Most of the delegates will leave on Thursday.
