TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.

Excollent entries have been received for the Taranaki Agricultural Society's -13 rd Annual Show to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, of this week, and, a first-class show '"s expected. The grounds at Waiwakaih'o are now undergoing a transformation. Tents and marquees are being erected to accommodate the various displays of dairy machinery and side shows. Supporters of the Society are busily engaged in getting up ex--tra pens for the sheep entries, and in attending to the details so« necessary in conduct a smooth-running show. The weather at the present time seems quite settled, and there is

every possibility of the show taking place in glorious weather. People's Day (Thursday) is to be a most attractive day. The leaping competitions and grand parade of prize-winners takes place on that afternoon, whilst the New Plymouth Citizen's Band has been engaged to provide the musical part of the programme. Luncheon, afternoon tea, soft drinks, ices and fruit will be procurable on the grounds, these arrangements being under the management of n committee of lady supporters of the Society. The refreshment booth is again in the hands of Mr E. Whittle. Trains for the return journey as far south as Hawera have been delayed to run at 5.20 and 6 p.m. Passengers travelling to the show by rail arc advised to get off at Smart Road and use the right-of-way through the Taranaki Farmers' Meat- Co's Works as this comes out almost opposite the main gate of the Show Grounds. Accommodation has been arranged for motor cars on the grounds at a small charge of Is for parking.
