"Mr Hoover has issued a warning that A reduction of twenty per cent in the con 6f wheat will he necessary to conserve Svheat for home and Allied use. He stated that the wheat deficit in the United States and Canada in 1917 was 400 million Bushels compared to the normal pre-war requirements. The approximate surplus in other cereals was 900 million. The South American wheat crop was a large failure. The new harvest will not be available there till the spring of 1918. ' 1 CUBA AND THE UNITED; STATES. TRAINING OR*AMERICANS.
