The greatest and bloodiest battle the Roumanian army ever fought has now reached its tenth day on a hundred mile front. Fluctuations are inevitable, but the battle has already proved that the Roumanians are capable of resisting the enemy’s most frantic efforts. k General Mackensen is being compelled to continually bring up reinforcements. Tbe Roumanian situation has now been established. A typical episode occurred at Oituz, where the Roumanians, after squashing the enemy’s massed formations, counter-attacked, causing terrific losses.
