THE RANGIORA SHOOT.

At the North Canterbury Gun Club’s annual pigeon shooting competitions at Rangiora on Tuesday, there were a large number of competitors. The first match was a Grand National Pigeon Sweepstake, of £5 each. There was 25 entries, and the shooting was of a fair standard. W. C'hisnall (22yds) and H. A. Quartermain (23yds) shot all their birds, and divided first money (£95 12s fid), while E. Hammond (21yds) and S. Watson (25yds) shot 13 birds each, and divided second money (£l6 17s fid). The Grand National Sparrow Match, a sweepstake of £2 10s each, drew 15 entries. H. Ensor (16yds), L. P. Hughes (22yds), and G. Cadby '(l6 yds) each shot all their birds, and divided the prize money £33 15s), A sweepstake of £1 each, first miss out, was won by A. B. L. Smith (21 yds), J. Ai. Wheeler (22yds) being run-ner-up. There were 14 competitors. A second sweepstake of £1 each, first miss out, drew 8 competitors. J. Skilling (24yds) and J. A. Wheeler (23yds) tied for first money, with A. B. L. Smith as runner-up. On the following day the results were as follows: A sweepstake of £2 each, ten birds, first miss out, resulted in J. A. Wheeler, W. Feck, and L. P. Hughes killing all their birds, and dividing £27. The next match was a £1 each pigeon sweepstake. Six competitors killed all their birds. J. Skilling lifted his prize money, £ll 9s, and the other live lifted their entrance money and shot off for what was left in the next sweep, Chisnall, Truscott, and L. P. Hughes winning. The third and last match was a 14sparrow sweepstakes of £1 each, three misses out. G. Cudby shot all his birds, and took £8 2s, while Ayers, Johns, Smith, and Kerr divided second money, each taking £1 7s.
