POSTAL RATES; . Letters and Letter Cards.—lnland (including Cook Islands), Id for each 4oz. or fraction thereof, and id for each succeeding 2oz, United Kingdom, British possession, United States, Chili, Costa Rica, Egypt t Italy, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria. Peru, Pago Pago, Paraguay, Portugal, and Portuguese Colonies Siam, Scryia, and Agencies in Chinese Treaty Ports, Id for each oz. or 'fraction thereof; alj other places 2Jd for the first oz. or fraction thereof, and IJd for each suceeding oz. or fraction thereof. Including War Tax id additional.

Post Cards.—lnland, single Id; all other places, single lid. Printed Papers (including Books and Magazines, not registered).—'All places Id per 2oz. Magazines (registered), inland, id for every Boz. or fraction thereof. Foreign, Id per 2oz or fracton thereof. One end must he left open. Including War Tax id additional. , Comjperical Papers.— Town (for accounts, etc., only) 1 for 2ozs, or lid or first 40z., apd id each succeeding 2oz. Registration. —2d additional for all places. War Tax.—fd additional, is included in all the above. Newspapers. —Town and Inland, id each, United Ringdora. Australia, Can ada, Ceylon, India, Jamaica, Natal Orange River, South Sea Islands, and Transvaal Id each paper. If under Boz. sent by first available route; oyer Boz. sent by direct steamer only; unless specially addressed and paid at rate of Id for first 4oz, and i.d for, each succeeding 2oz. All other places Id each under 4oz. and ad each extra ~oz. TELEPHONES. Telephone Exchanges at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invecargill, Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, and Wanganui are open all day and all night. The other Exchanges chiefly from 9 a.m. and 5 p.m money orders, plus telegraph chaigo annual charge of £5. Charges.—At Exchange continuous ly open—Business establishments, £7, private residences £5 per annum. Exchanges not continuously open, £5 per annum.
