America is buying merinos and crossbreds. Aiming’s re” port that the rabbit skin sales closed linn, 2205 bundles being sold. Noivton King’s Weekly Report. On Friday, 27th ult., at the Showgrounds. for my 2nd annual show sale, there was a good attendance from all parts of the district. Chief interest centred on Messrs Coulter's and Griffiths’ Jersey stock. Coulter’s cattle had arrived on only the previous afternoon and were looking very travel worn after throe days on steamer and train, tin's considerably affecting their sale. Mr L. Griffiths’ stock, as usual, were in excellent condition!, considering that it is the off season for bulls and also that [be cows were past profit, the prices realised must be considered as satisfactory. Mr Coulter’s fine 3year bull “Golden Roof” by “Soumise Majesty” from “Golden Lily” (sire and dam both imported from the Island) was passed at the hammer but was subsequently sold to Mr A. Griffiths of Otaki. Prices for other stock were as follows:—Pedigree Jersey cows 19] to 31 gus, pedigree Jersey heifers 12] to 26 gns, pedigree Jersey bulls 12] to 29 gus, pedigree Jersey bull calves 8 to 12 gns, pedigree Ayrshiros drew brisk competition as follows: Heifers 6 to 17 gns, cows 21] gns, bulls 8 gns. Grade in calf heifers £5 ss, pedigree Holstein bulls 13 gns, fat cows £7 to £B, fat lambs 15s, fat wethers £1 Is to £1 ss, gift calves from £3 7s 6d to £4 10s, other calves up to £1 ss.

At Waiwakaiho on Monday, 2nd inst., I had a full yarding of cattlo and several pons of sheep. Tlie attendance, it being an off day, was not as good as at recent sales, but those present were buyers and made good competition throughout, practically every pen being cleared at tbe following prices. At Stratford on Tuesday I had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle. Competition for the former was quiet, but nil cattle yarded, with the exception of 2 pens were sold at the hammer. Competition on good conditioned cows and bulls was well maintained, several pons of weanors were yarded, one particularly fine lino of 30 steers (all Shorthorns) realising £2. These were the best weaner steers seen in these yards for some years. Other weans were all sold at the hammer. MATTHEWS, GAMLIN AND CO’S. REPORT. Matthews, Gamlin and Co. report a good yarding of stock at their Inglewood yards last Wednesday. Bidding was good for forward cows and bulls, also there was a slightly better demand for weaners.
