HIS MAJESTY’S PICTURES. To-night’ss now series of films ft I Bernard’s Theatre is stated to he of the highest possible standard. The star drama ‘‘Chequered Wooing” is a powerful Pathe drama, replete with emotion, passion, power (and pathos. “Diversion” is a genuine A.B. drama of grip’ and interest. .“The Cowards,” by Lubin’s players is a most magnetic western story. The scenics include ‘‘Scones in North Sweden,” “Arabia Aden,” and “Picturesque Corsica,” whilst ‘very strong cqmiics are headed by the Vitagraph screamer “Sandy Cots Shorty a Job.” Sandy and Shorty drift into town on the top of a. box-oar. Sandy sees a gang of men at work, and persuades Shorty to get a job there, and got the price of a drink. Neither of them work any too well, so the foreman desides to show them how it should be done. When he takes off his coat, Sandy notices a lull whisky flask in his pocket. Ho \ abstracts it cleverly, manages to get away from the scene with his friend, and they proceed to enjoy themselves to their hearts’ content. The management have secured the famous - Biblican story “The Life of Christ,” I by Pathe. TOWN HALL PICTURED

To-morrow night’s programme of entirely new and exclusive films will include the magnificent historic drama, “A Throne at Stake.” The plot is one of enthralling interest, and the gorgeous and barbaric splendor of the Continental Court of other days is reproduced in a style that does credit to the “Aquilla” film people, who, by the way, are in the front rank. This groat “star” is a 3000 feet film, and not for one second does the interest flag. Lubin contributes two exclusive dramas: “On the Mount, ain Ranch,” and “The House in the Woods,” and the A. 15. films aro represented by a comic entitled “Recreation of an Heiress.” “Modern Bird Men” is a fine topical film, and the scenic portion of the programme introduces an exceptionally interesting “Trip Down the River Thames.” Other films are by leading makers. Mr King draws his supplies from the anti-combine film service, and will screen regularly as they arrive from the manufacturers, via Sydney, exclusive pictures hv Lubin, A. 8., Vitagraph, Pathe, Kalem, Aquilla. B. and 0., Urban and other world-renowned makers. An exclusive “star” heads each programme, and the pictures are projected by a fine new Erneman cinematograph, recently landed from the makers. Mr King has been for over seven years connected with picture enterprises in Australia, and is a practical manager-operator. A matinee specially arranged for children will be held on Saturday at 2.30.
