LONDON WOOL SALES. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 3rd instant : i acre was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition by Home, Continental and American buyers being active and prices, as compared with the close of preceding series, ruled about 10 per cent, higher for crossbred wools and about 5 per cent to 7 per cent higher for .merino wools. The opening catalogues were fairly representative. Mr Newton King has received the following advice re London wool salts: —“Sales opened strong, large attendance of buyers, competition brisk. Merino and fine crossbred market advanced 7} to 10 per cent, crossbred (coarse to medium) advanced 10 per ; cut. to 15 per cent.”
