FIRST LIST OF STATIONS. [Per Press Association.] Dunedin, March I. The first list of stations was presented to the Methodist Conference today, and the following are the appoinxments to the Taranaki district:New Plymouth, J. A. Luxford, ( . H. Olds, a lionio missionary; supejhnmerary, E. W. Connell. Waitara: ■). W. Griffith. Inglewood: J. Featherston. Stratford: A. Reader, 0. Hum-. Eltham: H. White. Hawera: K. 0. Blamires. Manaia: W. Rowe. Cape Egmont: One wanted. Capo Egmont: R'. B. Tinsley, and a home missionary. East Egmont, one wanted, and a home missionary. Kaponga: P. Hands. North Taranaki, Uruti and Patea, home missionaries. The Rev. C. Griffin's request that his status be dated from 1876 was granted. A report was received from the committees on temperance v.xvl public morals. Resolutions were adopted in regard to Sabbath observance, the liquor problem, and industrial unrest.

It was resolved to express regret that the Government did i.ot afford an opportunity last session (oi av».ending the throe-fifths provision of the Licensing Act, and to ask that steps be taken to have the proposed 'Jill passed into law as early as possible. The gambling question was considered, and a resolution adopted condemning the totalisator, and deprecating the recent attempt to increase the number of totalisator permits

The secretary of the Conne«;ioiud Fire Insurance Office presented u iepor, which was received. It showed that the capital in the fund nn.cui.*ed to £6393, after deducting VUdO voted towards the supernumerary fui;d on account of the ex-Primitive Methodists' ministers' organ. The guarantors of the fund were releas >1 lioai ;i! : liability in view of the satisfactory growth of the capital.
