On Wednesday evening kist a farewell was tendered to Messrs F. and i*. Rodgers, of Taliora, at the J'.W'.i). "batch," and a very enjoyable evening ivas spent.. Speeches, dancing, and singing were the order of tlie evening. A speech was given by Mr F. Rodgers and T. Rabone. Those ■ taking part in the singing wore F. ; Rodgers, X. Rabone, H. Woodrow, A. Fryer, T. Gumming, G. White. Hie i "Batch" quartette was also a success. G. Thomas supplied the music. The i jevening finished up by singing "Acid ! | Lang Syne." ();i Friday evening, 27th nit., a farewell .social was given to Mr and Mrs F. Rodgers and family. As a I token of respect, Mrs Rodgers was |presented with a lovely toilet dressing case, and Mr Rodgers with a purse of sovereigns. During the : evening songs were given by Miss G. ! O'Counelly, Messrs Cleland, B. Win- ] throp, Sullivan and V. Rogers. Miss | M. Roughan also danced the Irish j jigCRiCKET.
