THE STRATFORD SHOW.

OPENED ATTHE TOWN HALL. The Town Hall presented an animated spectacle this morning, the occasion being the Stratford Horticultural Society's annual autumn show'. The bustle was caused by the benching of exhibits. All the morning vehicles novo drawing up and depositing loads of cut and pot flowers and vegetables.

and inside the hall the exhibitors and stewards in large numbers were very busy in arranging the exhibits to the \nd it is safe to say

that a Letter arrangement of the exhibits could not be desired. All the officials of the Society were hard at work and none did more work than the übiquitous secretary, Mr W. S. Cato. The entries all round are larger than last rear.

The pot plants are a good section and are nicely placed on one of the big trestles running down the hall.

As usual there is a big collection of cut flowers, the sweet pea section being one of the largest. In dahlias the only competitors are Mrs Petrie and Mr F. Davies, hut there is a good collection of line blooms.

The children's classes are well filled, and the exhibits are well displayed on the stage.

The farm and market garden produce section is one of the biggest in the show, and some of the cabbages and parsnips on exhibition are of enormous size. From a cursory glance it would seem that not many points will separate the prize-takers. In the home industries section the exhibits are numerous and of excellent (quality.

This evening a programme of musio will he rendered by the Egmont Club orchestra.
