SERIOUS BUSH FIRES.
IPer Press Association.) Gisborne, December 7. Bush fires have occurred in the Wharerata and Morere districts. A number of settlers were up all night fighting the flames, which were carried rapidly over the country by the high wind. No homesteads were destroyed but a good deal of fencing and sheep yards were burnt.
