BILL TO BE BROUGHT BEFORE HOUSE

A statement that a Bill of importance to superannuitants would be brought before the House of Representatives in a few weeks’ time was made by the Hon. T. F. Doyle, M.L.C., during an address at the half-yearly meeting of the Southland branch of the New. Zealand Railways Superannuitants’ Association. The Minister of Finance (Mr Nash) had signified his willingness to meet members of the association before the introduction of the Bill, Mr Doyle Mr Doyle spoke about the railways system, the railways superannuation fund, and parliamentary procedure. He was accorded a vote of thanks. Mr W. S. Shepherd was chairman at the meeting and there was an attendance of 32 members. , The names of 16 annuitants, who had died during the last three months, were read. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect.
