Representative
The win. of Representative at Paeroa was his first since the Avondale Cup of 1943. The Nightmarch gelding three years ago won the Avondale and the Great Northern Guineas. A year later he started well with two wins, including the Avondale Cup, but after being awarded second place in the New Zealand Cup he went to pieces. After three unsuccessful outings last season Representative went out for a long spell. Then he was sent to J. L. Muir at Te Rapa with the idea of making a jumper of him. That plan will be deferred. It is curious that all Jris wins with one exception (the Christmas Handicap) have been gained in early spring. ,
