SERVICEMEN ENTERTAINED
CLIFTON.— A large crowd met in the Clifton Hall to welcome home Corporal H. L. Wixom Mr A. E. Gibb, acting chairman of the Clifton Soldiers’ Welcome Home Committee, presided. In making a presentation from the residents he wished Corporal Wixon health and success in the future. Mr L. McDermott made a presentation on behalf of the Victory Club and Mr G. McDermott spoke on behalf of the Awarua R.S.A. In conjunction with this function the opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Private A. Timpany. Mr Gibb conveyed the good wishes of all present and wished him a safe and speedy return. The guest of honour was presented with a wallet containing notes.
