ANOTHER AIRMAN ON TRIAL

Information Alleged To Have Been Given To Germans LONDON, August 27. Another court martial in which a former Royal Air Force prisoner of war is charged with aiding the Germans while in captivity opened at Uxbridge today. The accused, Flight Sergeant J. Alcock, a 32-year-old air gunnel’ from Manchester, pleaded not guilty to nine charges of giving the Germans informattion about R.A.F. formations, details of the Halifax aircraft, information about secret radar equipment known as “Monika,” asking fellow prisoners to fill in German forms and of accepting parole from the German authorities.

The prosecution stated that the alleged offences occurred in a German interrogation transit camp where Alcock was imprisoned aftex' he was shot down in a raid on Mannheim.

A Luftwaffe officer. Lieutenant Bauer Schliglitigroll, said in evidence that Alcock, in return for the" offer of a little more freedom, accepted the job of taking forms to prisoners in their cells to have them filled in. The witness said that he listened in by microphone to the calls. Alcock was not a good helper. He approached the prisoner clumsily and made them suspicious. The witness did not-think the accused brought in one form filled in. Alcock later took up a job given in other quarters. He was allowed to wear civilian clothes, but received no payment.
