PRESENTATION TAKES TWO HOURS
Mr Holland To Speak On Tuesday Evening (P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 9. Exactly two hours were occupied in the House of Representatives tonight in the presentation of the Budget, the Minister of Finance, Mr Nash, finishing at 9.30. The galleries were well •filled, and when Mr Nash resumed his seat he was applauded by both sides of the House. The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, stated that the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Holland, would speak in the debate on Tuesday evening, and if members desired it the House would not sit during Tuesday afternoon. Mr Holland asked whether his share in the debate would be broadcast over the same number of radio stations as the Budget. “The document gets preference over the individual,” Mr Fraser commented, in stating that although the Budget had been broadcast by four stations, the debate, including the reply by Mr Nash, would be broadcast by ■ one station. The House adjourned at 9.35 p.m.
