STEADY PRICES FOR COWS AND HEIFERS (P.A.) DUNEDIN, August 8. All sections at today's Burnside auction maintained late values. Prime quality cattle at the start of the sale received particular attention and there was an improvement compared with last week’s values to the extent of £1 a head. This advance, however, was not maintained throughout, and towards the end of the auction prices were about on the same level as those of last week. Cows and heifers brought steady prices throughout the sale and could be quoted at firm to a shade better than at the previous sale. . , ... There was an entry of 320 fat cattle.
