The herd was founded eighteen years ago with stock from the famous Tokorangi stud, mostly with daughters from Oakland Clarion, and fortified with high class sires from leading North Island Studs, including Abbeville and Erinview. Present Herd Sire “Abbeville Stylish Sam,” son of that long distance Dreaming Sam Cow “Meon Metalline N.H.C.” The herd has been built on commercial lines; last season’s record 339 fat from 43 cows, including 16 two and three year old heifers, in a short lactation of 246 days speaks for itself.
