SENSATIONAL NEW ENGINE
(Rec. 12.20 a.m.) LONDON, July 29. A sensational new petrol turbine rotary internal combustion engine a quarter the size and a quarter the weight of present engines, yet developing at least four times more power, is detailed in the newspaper Tire People. Invented by a Yorkshireman, Mr Benjamin Shore, the engine can be adapted to motor cars, railway trains, launches and ocean liners. Scientists, engineers, manufacturers and financiers, who have been given a secret preview of the engine, describe it as “probably the invention of the century.”
